Every year a jury of experts meets and chooses 10 of all the Fontina cheeses in the Aosta Valley. These differ from all the others due to their characteristics of shape, taste and consistency and are awarded the Modon d'Or award.
This year one of the coveted prizes was won by the La Pierre mountain pasture in the municipality of Aymavilles
