Every year a jury of experts meets and chooses 10 of all the Fontina cheeses in the Aosta Valley, which differ from all the others due to their characteristics of shape, taste and consistency and are awarded the Medaille d'Or. Of these ten, only the best can win the Modon d'Or award.

This year one of the coveted prizes was won by the Morgnoz mountain pasture in the municipality of Sarre
