The Da Emy agricultural company based in the village of Bois de Clin deals with the cultivation and first transformation of the very famous medicinal plant used by mountaineers to prepare the fabulous liqueur called Génépy. This plant with a pleasant aromatic smell and golden yellow flowers is called Artemisia umbelliformis by botanists. In Valsavarenche this species seems to be particularly at ease, in fact the botanist Pignatti in his work "Flora d'Italia" points out that although the Artemisia umbelliformis generally reaches up to 3000 m above sea level, it reaches up to 3700 meters on Grivola. So Emilia Berthod's idea of cultivating, drying and packaging the seedlings of white Genepì in Valsavarenche, this is its common name, seems to be convincing for this reason too.
